Man.. Time really flies by fast when you are having fun.. It has already been 3 weeks since I’ve written here on my blog, I guess most of the blame can go to, a few new projects that I’ve been thinking about and the fact that I’ve begun to be a little more active with other things than my computer..

I’ve been using much of my time on playing around with JSP and JAVA in general and that has indeed taken a bit of my time.. I’ve also worked a bit on my Twitter/MediaMonkey synchronizer, but I haven’t gotten it completely ready to be released yet, I’m afraid.

Other than that, I’ve been a bit more active with exercise and using much time on managing my food/calorie intake..

I have also been thinking about starting another JAVA project, which would require a few things:

A JAVA application on the desktop computer, so you can manage your calorie intake while at your computer.

A mobile (J2ME) version of the desktop application, so you can add more calories while you are on the road.

A JSP or PHP server back-end for a web server which can serve as a connection point for the desktop application and the J2ME application

With those things intact, I can build an effective calorie counting solution, which will probably be using different formulas which aids the user with calculating what the user burns daily and so on..

It’s a large project, and I hope that I will have the energy to see it through to the end, because it could be a really effective solution that maybe would hopefully like to use. *grins*

So, yea, that’s what I’ve been using the most of my time on, which is probably why I haven’t written much lately.

But thanks for reading, and I will try and keep you all up to date on the progress of my projects.

As some of you already might know, I am currently working on a little Java experiment, which is basically an Twitter updater, that sends a status update when ever you listen to a new song in MediaMonkey..

Now currently it only works on windows due to the MediaMonkey API using OLE objects for communications, but I have been thinking about trying to extend the application into the world of Linux also, by supporting the Amarok player there.. Currently my laptop is running Kubuntu 8.04, so I could test said code, but my plans don’t stop there..

As some of you might know, Twitter allows you to update your status via SMS messages, but that can be insanely expensive for people that do not live in the same country as Twitters phone numbers, and therefore I have also been thinking about extending the Java classes I have to communicate with Twitter so that they can run on Java enabled phones and PDAs, that would allow you to update Twitter via the internet, which in many cases are a lot cheaper, because Twitter doesn’t really much up much internet traffic, in my calculations you can send around 2621 Twitter updates on 1 MB of traffic and even in those calculations I’ve given a lot of head room for error packages and such..

So, I hope that someone out there finds my experiments interesting and should I choose to make them public then I will probably make a page about it here on my website, so you all can download and try it out..

If you have any ideas or comments, please throw them to me either via Twitter or MyBlogLog..
