Silvery falls

Heh, sorry for the strange title, maybe I should have written, “What it means to be Furry for me” that would have been a bit more correct, but less catchy.

So, what it means for me to be Furry. Wow that is a difficult question really, because it means so many things. First and foremost I want to say, that I am more of a spiritual furry myself, because due to my spiritual and religious beliefs, I identify myself more with my fursona on a spiritual basis than on a physical basic.

Now that might sound complicated, but it really isn’t, at least not much.. What I mean is, that I identify myself with my fursona’s animal on a spiritual level than I do on the physical, I mean that, yes I love horses and all there is about them really and if I could I would still practice horseback riding and be very happy, but due to my mental disorder, I am limited to just view horses from pictures or from very far away, which pains me and I think that is when I started to develop a more spiritual connection to horses than anything else..

Now don’t get me wrong, I think that the spiritual connection have always been there, I just haven’t been aware of it myself until recently due to my condition, but now that I am aware of it, I think that it became a turning point in my life..

What I mean is, I started to appreciate life and the wonders of our world a lot more, since I have been denied access to them. Many people that I hear about or see on the TV just wander around in this world, without seeing the beauty and the deep connection that, I believe, we all share with everything around us, yes I know it sounds very Star Wars-y, but that I really how I see it..

Now, maybe I am getting a bit off topic, so I will reserve further spiritual talk for when I write my blog post about my spirituality and what I believe in, but I just wanted you to know that my connection with my fursona’s spirit is really what matters most to me, but now I hear you yell: “But your fursona is a unicorn and they are now real” and I must say, yes you are right, they are not real, but the reason my fursona is a unicorn and not a horse is simply because people associate magical properties to unicorns which in turn makes them look more spiritual than real horses do and that is why I choose a unicorn instead of just a horse..

Though I will also say that I love all the other parts of being a furry, or what people think a furry is anyway (and no I’m not writing about twisted sexualities, if you think that read my blog post on Furries and Furry Fandom). I love furry art because the furry fandom has some incredible artists really that work for next to nothing providing the rest of us with high quality art, yes most furry artists I’ve seen have also experimented with furry pornography, but that doesn’t mean there still are some very very beautiful non-pornographic images out there..

I think that is all that I can say on the subject really. My fursona is very spiritual for me and I do not believe that it will change any time soon..
